Otologics, LLC, has recently started a test of its new implantable hearing device. Intended to aid people with with hearing loss, a small implantable microphone controls a device that vibrates the small bones inside the inner ear and simulates a functioning ear drum. Since it's based on a microphone, I'm sure you could attach a directional telescopic mic and you'd have super hearing.
